Tia Cowie

Tia was born in Ottawa and raised in Saskatoon.  Her passion for music and theatre began at a very early age.  Tia began playing the piano in grade two, and discovered the joy of playing the trumpet in grade four with the Saskatoon Lions Band.  She then studied the trumpet under John Shoen a brilliant musician and leader in Saskatoon's musical community.

Tia discovered a love for musical theatre after becoming a cast member for Saskatoon Summer Players as a child.  Tia later on pursued  her education at Persephone Theatre  and continued this education through the Drama department at the University of Saskatchewan.

After privately studying classical voice Tia bought her first guitar and began teaching herself to play.  Singing and songwriting became such a joy that she began working on her own home recording studio and is very proud to have self produced every aspect of her first c.d.  Tia is now the vocalist for a Saskatoon band who are currently recording their second album.

Tia has a love of learning as well as children which naturally drove her to teaching.  Tia graduated with distinction from the College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan where she studied elementary education and focused her studies on incorporating music into the elementary classroom.  Tia is currently taking time to travel the world, volunteer with children's
organizations and focus on her true love MUSIC.  Tia is thrilled to be a Kindermusik educator where she can teach and inspire a love of music and life to the youth in her community.

Megan Sever

Hi, my name is Megan Sever. I was first introduced to music when I entered the Suzuki program for violin at the age of four. I continued with violin and fiddle lessons until I finished high school. Along the way I also played French horn in the school and concert bands, was part of an extra curricular hand bell choir and dabbled in piano and accordion. After high school I taught myself to play the guitar, and I now enjoy singing and playing all types of music, as well as writing my own.

In October 2007 I became a mommy. I enrolled my son Austin in a Village class with Miss Kari when he was 3 months old. Austin and I both really enjoyed the class. I found it very rewarding when after only a few classes, Austin began to recognize the songs when I would sing them at home.

It will be pleasure to share the gift of music with your children.
